Nebraska posted a link on their DMV website where the people can vote for the new license plates for 2011. I have to say that the state did a really really bad job this time around. The first choice of a bird and a flower with green letters looks like most other state’s plates did in the 1990’s the second plate looks pretty plain with maybe the most exciting thing on it being the Nebraska.gov part and the barcode, the third is the typical Nebraska type license plate with the state capital and the outline of the state. The 4th one, well maybe a group of first graders did it but at least they put the state slogan on it and that is the one I voted for.

Well no one ever said Nebraska was exciting.
Also in Nebraska the new security drivers licenses are coming out. You now have to bring TWO forms of proof of address even when you are renewing. If you are getting your first license and are a minor you have to still bring in two forms of proof of address by means of either a utility bill or credit card statement, which I don’t know many 15 or 16 year old kids with either of those.
If you want a state ID you have to bring in two forms of ID to get your state ID. Now in my view, you are trying to get an ID, how are you going to have ID? I can understand having a Birth Certificate but what else especially if they want one with a photo.
Seems kind of stupid to me. Oh and of course the price of licenses and ID’s have gone up to cover the cost of the new security requirements.

“Mein Kampf,” Adolf Hitler’s autobiography, is flying off the shelves at Indian book stores as business students look to Germany’s former dictator for inspiration.
Indian students see the book as a self-improvement and management strategy guide.
One Indian company, Jaico Publishing House, reprints a new edition of the book at least twice a year to keep up with the demand.
Sales of the book over the last six months topped 10,000 in Delhi alone.
India is not the only country where Mein Kampf is popular. It has been a best-seller in Croatia since it was first published in while in turkey it sold 100,000 in just two months in 2005. In Russia it has been reprinted three times since the de facto ban on the book was overturned in 1992.
In Germany the book’s copyright is held by the state of Bavaria where its publication is banned until 2015, 70 years after Hitler’s death.

There was a card left on my door today from the Doggy Doo Detectives. They are willing to pick up the poop in my yard once a week for 6 dollars for the first dog and one dollar for each additional dog and if I buy two months of service I get one month free.
Lets see. I pay 5 bucks for a 5 gallon bucket and then 3 bucks for a lid which lasts about a week, then I fight with my son to go out and pick it up. He usually picks up a few piles and that’s it, then the dogs run and roll in the left over piles. When it is time to cut the grass we argue about the poop in the yard,I usually end up stepping in several piles, and then end up getting mad. The poop buckets sit out by the shed and stink because the dogs chew up the lids and I forget to go to the store and buy new ones.
This may actually be worth it.
