Yesterday on my way home from work I had a very scary experience. I started to get confused and had to pull over because my blood sugar got really low. I don’t know why it went low because I had eaten about an hour and a half before I left work. After I stopped I ate about 5 Glucose tablets and started to feel better and decided I could drive the rest of the way home. I did fine until I got close to the house then I started having issues again. When I got home my son was waiting for me and said I was walking funny and took me and put me in my bed and attempted to test my blood sugar but he wasn’t really sure how to do it. I am very happy he was home to help me because I really don’t remember getting there or into the house. I will be going to see Doctor No Neck next week to see what is going on.

When I was laying down yesterday our bulldog Emma must have known something was wrong because she got up next to me and started to lick me and kind of bite me, not a hurt type of bite but the kind they do when they itch or try to comfort another dog. My sisters dog did the same thing to her after she passed away.

Later my wife wouldn’t let me stay home alone so we all went to his baseball game which they won 7 to 5.

Today was my last day shift, later I have a wedding to go to and Sunday I start working nights. I am off Monday night Tuesday morning – Friday morning is Jury duty and Friday – Sunday night is work, then back to Jury duty. My body is going to be very confused on when to eat, sleep and do whatever else it has to do.

I have had these kind of issues a few times – not AS drastic that I didn’t remember anymore how I got to a place but still, very disturbing. I learned to ALWAYS have some kind of sweets in my purse, either gum (that already enough) or candy of any kind. It works within seconds, thank God!! I am glad that IF my blood sugar already acts up – it tends to nose-dive and NOT go the other way!

About night shifts … I am in my 7th year and DEFINITELY done with!!! Not continuously but still .. I HATE them!! I reach a point after already two or three nights that my body doesn’t know when to sleep anymore and I have to resort to sleeping pills which – under usual circumstances – I NEVER need nor use (I fall asleep without any problems within 5-10 minutes).
Fact is, I am looking for another job …
