Ted's Soapbox 2.0

Things have been good at home. We had a parent/teacher and my son is doing great in school, which really makes me happy. He is doing so good in fact that it may cost me a good sum of cash since we made a deal with him about grades.

It really has gotten cold fast here. We had a good frost the other day and it actually froze a little. I can’t remember it ever being this early. The local weather fools are even talking about some snow this coming Sunday. I don’t think it has done that in a long time. The earliest I remember was the Halloween ice storm in the 90’s.

I have the heat pump running and it is really nice. The house stay’s warm and not using propane is really nice. I always keep the house at 68 during the day and drop it down to 65 at night. My problem is setting it to warm up at the right time so it isn’t so cold getting out of bed. I think investing in a heated bathroom floor would be a good idea. Maybe even a heated toilet seat.

In a note to my sister – Picklepuss is not a bad word! Also, my nieces have taught me a few new words, and I am a retired sailor!

JUST A NOTE:

While I think Wil Wheaton is pretty much a jerk I can feel for his current problem of someone posting a copy of his audio book “Just A Geek” and making it available for fee download. Wheaton doesn’t use a big publisher and doesn’t put copyright software on his audio material which makes it possible to burn it and also put it on your audio devices.

Some jerk has decided to put a copy on their website and made it available to others free of charge, which in turn takes money away not from a big company or publisher but from Wheaton himself.

So come on, take the link down, the guy has a family to feed and bills to pay.

ON MY SOAPBOX

Alright St Louis Ram’s fans, its time to get out those pens and start writing to tell Rush Limbaugh to keep his fat hands off the Rams.

I understand that the Rams have lost just about every way possible, but I think it would be the teams biggest loss if they were to be bought in part by the lard ass Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh, a devicive conseritive talk show host who has demonstrated racist & religious bigoted views, can have no good reason to want to own a professional sport team except to make more money. I don’t believe he would care one bit for the fans of the team.

I for one would have to remove my Ram’s sticker if he were to actually buy even one micron of the team.
