Today ended my first week back at work after being sick. I can’t believe how much it took out of me. I found it very hard to stay awake the entire night and my blood sugars were just crazy. Looks like I will have to go visit Dr No Neck next week to get it figured out. I don’t like taking the extra insulin before each meal.

I think I found my casket:

Navy

Actually the price isn’t very bad either.

I wonder if Dawnell will let me order mine and keep it in the basement until it is needed.

USS GERALD R FORD

Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding and the Navy marked the keel-laying of the newest aircraft carrier Friday in ceremonies at Newport News, Va.

The ship is named after Gerald R. Ford, the 38th U.S. president. Ford’s daughter, Susan Ford Bales, is the ship’s sponsor and authenticated the keel when her initials were welded onto a metal plate.

The carrier, numbered CVN 78, represents the first new carrier design since the 1960s. The ship will have a smaller crew than previous flattops and incorporate new technologies, including an Electro-Magnetic Aircraft Launching System, advanced arresting gear and dual-band radar.

The new ship should join the fleet in 2015.

****Why in the world is the Navy naming a ship after Gerald Ford? He wasn’t elected President, or Vice Presidnet for that matter. I am sure there are a number of better presidents to name it after.****

What did Ford do as president? Oh, gave up on South Vietnam and Cambodia. I guess its better than naming a ship after G.W. Bush.

BUGLERS NEEDED

Buglers to play taps are in short supply at a time when the need for people who can perform this solemn duty is very high.

The military employs about 500 full-time buglers. The military’s goal is to have a live bugler at funerals whenever possible, but “ceremonial bugles” are also used.

The bugles look like real bugles and include a device that plays a recording of taps.
