Then and Now

Ted Add comments

The past few days were busy at home. Lots of appointments and house cleaning. I went to the doctor yesterday and was put on new medications in an attempt to stop or lessen my migraines. I hope it works, I have missed a lot of work because of them.

It looks like it will just be the 3 of us for Thanksgiving dinner, which will actually be a lunch since I have to work that day.

Kyle no longer is on our shift. He decided working nights wasn’t his cup of tea, or whatever he drinks. Now I get to spend exciting nights with Lurch, and watch him fall asleep 30 minutes after getting to work. One of these days the guy is giong to break his neck as he falls asleep in the chair that is too small to hold his frame.

OBAMA TO PULL A BUSH IN AFGHANISTAN

The Pentagon is making detailed plans to send about 34,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan in anticipation of President Obama’s decision on the future of the eight-year-old war.

A Defense Department official with direct knowledge of the process said there has been no final word on the president’s decision. But planners have been tasked with preparing to send 34,000 additional American troops into battle with the expectation that is the number Obama is leaning toward approving.

About 68,000 U.S. troops are in Afghanistan, along with about 45,000 from the NATO alliance.

This story came from Fox News, so take it as you want. I can’t find anything else about it in any other news sources except Right Wing NEOCON blogs.

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges.

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment, and have requested a trial by court-martial.

United States Central Command declined to discuss the detainee, but a legal source told FoxNews.com that the detainee was turned over to Iraqi authorities, to whom he made the abuse complaints. He was then returned to American custody. The SEAL leader reported the charge up the chain of command, and an investigation ensued.

****As I said, it came from Fox News and everyone knows that they are famous for making up stories and misreporting the facts.****

  1. Me Says:

YOu make reference to Bush, what about President Lyndon Johnson in 1965? Does Vietnam come to mind? It is so nice you still think about Bush.

  2. Ted Says:

Yes I remember Vietnam, and I believe a REPUBLICAN was the one who actually got us into that conflict, which Kennedy and then Johnson inherited.

I doubt anyone will ever forget Bush or ever be able to stop thinking about him since he screwed up our country and it will take generations to fix.
