We had another snow storm yesterday and the wind is really blowing out side right now making it hard to see with all the blowing snow. The past few days have been really cold with lows going down to negative 20 (F) or lower and the highs sometimes around 1 above. Today they said it may make it up to zero (F) and on Thursday it won’t even get that warm. I tell ya though, I get sick of people asking “where is all this global warming?” They just refuse to accept it is actually going on.

We got a snow blower from someone for free and I took it to the shop and had a turn up and everything for it but it still won’t run for me. It starts up but won’t run long enough to do the entire driveway. I guess it is back to using the plow.

I have been really down the past few days, nothing seems to be going right for me. I wish my wife would take down that damn Christmas tree. I really hate looking at it. I found it quite refreshing to be at my mom’s house and not having one up there.

The Burj Dubai, which celebrated its grand opening on Monday, has easily laid claim to being the tallest building in the world. At 818 meters (2,684 feet), it is over 1,000 feet taller than the previous record holder, the Taipei 101. Dubai’s newest symbol of megalomaniacal opulence can be seen from Bedouin oases in the desert up to 100 kilometers away. The building is also the world’s tallest man-made structure, surpassing a television mast in North Dakota. The completion of the Burj Dubai brings the title of the world’s tallest manmade structure back to the Middle East after 700 years.

The tower is so tall that temperatures at the very top are up to 14 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than at its base. Should a window at the top and a door at the bottom be opened at the same time, along with all the airlocks in between, a phenomenon called the “chimney effect” would unleash a storm ripping the interior of the building apart.

The observation deck on the 124th floor is the highest outdoor observation deck in the world. It was announced that the Burj Dubai cost a total of $1.5 billion to build, or around $9 million per floor. During construction, a new floor was added roughly every four days.

The tower’s construction took 22 million man-hours with up to 14,000 workers from 45 different countries laboring on the project. Many of them were paid as little as 12 euros a day or less.

ANOTHER FOX NEWS ASS OPENS HIS HOLE

Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume has publicly offered advice for the wayward Tiger Woods, ‘Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.’

With Rev. Billy Graham retired and Rev. Rick Warren busy saving his megachurch from budget woes, Hume testified on Christ’s sacrificial death and how his “deepest hope” is for Tiger to accept this gift and “be transformed.”

Israel says it has postponed a visit to the United Kingdom by military officials amid fears of arrest.
Israeli officials complained that the UK government has failed to give it a complete guarantee that its officials will not be arrested on British soil.

In December former foreign minister Tzipi Livni cancelled a visit to London, after a British judge issued an arrest warrant.

    Hey Ted,
I hear ya … sometimes everything sucks big time! Try to take it this way: the shit hit the fan right at the beginning of the year and it can get only uphill from now on. I always try to find a positive angle … a positive aspect to hold on to, kind of a bridge, it’s just my personality! I don’t ALLOW anyone to get me down … whoever tries or thinks he can, can go to hell!!

Hang in there buddy … and – YES, it is time to get rid of a Christmas tree!!!

Hahah Darnell – I didn’t mean to step on your tosies but think you did a GREAT job!! What I hear and read on the weather bug on the computer sounds AWFUL .. I guess Antarctica is warmer than Nebraska!!
I am alright, just pretty much stressed out by what’s going on right now in my life! I just about finished my degree (BSN), work like a dog only nightshifts, never sleep enough and have some more crap on the plate which I have to deal with! I have PRETTY MUCH ENOUGH but won’t allow anyone to get me down!! Whoever wants to even try can go to hell …
What do you mean by saying “I miss my husband”? Isn’t he home? However – I know how it feels …

Have a fantastic day, weekend and week!!
    :-)
