Uganda My Taxes

Ted Add comments

It has been a very nice week weather wise, since today is my Friday, we are supose to have rain for the next two days. Which means I won’t get anything done outside. My garden really needs a good overhaul, although my wife has been doing pretty good with pulling weeds, I have a thousand and one tomatos out there and some giant egg plants, which are not turning purple for some reason, I wonder if I planted white eggplants by mistake, My son has huge pumpkin plants which I am afraid go get close to because they might eat me and I have 4 or 5 watermellons which may be ready in a few weeks. My bean plants didn’t make it, neither did the carrots or anything else for some reason. We had a lot of baby rabbits in the yard so I think they got to the plants early on.

Next year I am going to divide up the garden into sections with wooden walls to keep the plants seperated some more and use weed fabric to try to help keep the weeds down. I thought I left enough room between the plants for the tiller but everything grew so big there is no way to get that tiller in there now.

Maybe the organic chicken poop helped.

The Plattsmouth Animal Hospital, where we took Jenga to be put to sleep, sent a sympathy card and then a few days later we received another card that they had made a donation in his name and had Arbor Day plant a tree in his name in a national forrest.

I should get the ashes back Thursday.

YOUR TAX DOLLARS HARD AT WORK

In Uganda, Yes In Uganda.

The United States has given Uganda $6 million dollars and Uganda plans to Introduce “marine tourism” to its list of core sightseeing marvels. Mr Edwin Muzahura, Uganda Tourism Board’s public relations officer, said they intend to start with purpose-tailored marketing of tourism treasures on Lake Victoria, the world’s second largest freshwater body. “We have rapid waterfalls and sites for water-rafting. That’s why we want to introduce marine tourism which the Americans suggested and are willing to support.”

“The campaign will raise awareness among Ugandans about the importance of their nation’s natural heritage and the need to improve conservation efforts.” “The goal is to encourage tour operators, hotel owners, and others in the tourism value chain to promote reasonably priced facilities to tourists in Uganda as a means to ensure long-term economic growth in Uganda’s tourism industry.”

Last year, Uganda got $746m from 842,000 tourists, most of them foreigners.

****In the mean time, the Great Lakes are drying up, children are going hungry and schools don’t have enough teachers or books, but I will sleep better knowing that Ugandans will now know that they have the second largest fresh water lake in the world and that they need to conserve the water so foreigners can visit it.****

HOWS THOSE COSMETICS FEEL?

The next time you go and paint up your face think about this:
Over 100 beagles were rescued from an abandoned cosmetics laboratory in Warren County, New Jersey earlier this week and they’re now looking for new homes.

The beagles were being used for pharmaceutical and chemical tests at the lab, officials said.

In a strange twist of fate the dogs were saved in part by the bad economy after the company that owned the lab filed for bankruptcy. “They closed the laboratory down and left the dogs inside,” said Lynne Schoepfer, Executive Director of Save-A-Pet in Port Jefferson Station.

As criminal as it sounds its not illegal to perform lab tests on dogs, as long as its done humanely. The reason why beagles are typically chosen is because they are such a docile breed.

****No word on any criminal charges against the owners who just up and left the dogs after they closed up shop.****
